On Monday 21st November, Tickets for Troops announced a bumper Christmas giveaway of free tickets to members of the Armed Forces and their families. Tickets available range from Premier League football matches, seasonal pantomimes, top music concerts and West End Shows.
Since the charity was launched two years ago over 100,000 troops have signed up and 260,000 tickets have been generously donated by sporting organisations, musical venues, theatres and cultural attractions.
The charity has received the support from a host of sporting bodies and clubs, these include The Premier League, The Aviva Premiership and the Professional Darts Corporation who have contributed to the thousands of sporting tickets available this Christmas.
Earlier this month The Football Association donated 1500 tickets for England's successful friendlies against Sweden and Spain at Wembley Stadium. The Rugby Football League provided over 3,000 tickets for the 2011 Gillette Four Nations tournament which included a double header at Wembley Stadium and Australia's victory over England in the final at Elland Road on 19th November.
This November was also the nPower Tickets For Troops Month where nPower, the title sponsor of the Football League, and thirteen clubs very generously organised 950 free ticketst to be made available to members of the Armed Forces and their families.
In tennis, members of the Armed Forces and their families have been given the chance to watch the world's top tennis players for free at the prestigious Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at the 02. The tournament organisers have teamed up with Tickets For Troops, donating a generous 1500 tickets for the tournament which takes place from Sunday 20th November to Sunday 27th November at the O2 Arena. The organisers of the AEGON Masters Tennis in the Royal Albert Hall have also made tickets available for the troops.
Pantomime producers are also getting behind Tickets for Troops this Christmasby supplying soldiers and their families hundreds of free tickets across the county for slap stick performances of Jack in the Bean Stalk, Dick Whittington and Robin Hood.
International music stars The Saturdays, Kaiser Chiefs, Aloe Blacc and White Lies have also pledged their support to the troops offering free tickets for a number of their UK concerts.
Other events available to the members of the Armed Forces include tickets to top West End musicals: Phantom of the Opera, Billy Elliot and Legally Blonde, Top Gear LIVE at the ExCeL and The British Military Tournament.
