Collaboration Festival

Festival enthusiasts in our Armed Forces will be given the opportunity to go to the inaugural Collaboration Festival this year for free. Organisers have teamed up with Tickets For Troops to provide hundreds of free tickets for servicemen and women. The festival, which is an intimate event along the bank of the River Thames in Wiltshire, will be headlined by Toploader and is also raising money for fellow forces charity Help for Heroes.

The family festival, which takes place over the weekend of the 26-28th August is very proud of its green credentials, promising to be a lively and enjoyable weekend while still giving the land the respect that it deserves. Other attractions at the festival include stand-up comedy, a silent disco and a fire show, all while camping alongside the Thames in an idyllic setting.

Tickets For Troops Chairman Lord Marland said:  "We are enormously grateful to The Collaboration Festival for their support of Tickets For Troops. It makes a real difference to the troops who are doing such an extraordinary job during these difficult times."

Tickets For Troops was set up in 2009 to provide members of the Armed Forces with free tickets for major sporting events, theatre performances, music concerts and cultural attractions. Since launching it has been donated over 260,000 tickets and almost 100,000 troops have registered on the website www.ticketsfortroops.org.uk.

Tickets For Troops has been supported by a wide range of organisations and has been able to offer free tickets to a huge number of high profile events; recently these have included tickets for Iron Maiden concerts, Premier League football matches, and the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Patron Freddie Flintoff said: "I know exactly what the troops are going through from my recent experiences of travelling to Afghanistan to meet them. I was extremely moved by the whole experience and met some incredible people while I was out there. The Tickets for Troops scheme will hopefully help them and make them realize how grateful we are for their efforts."
