TICKETS For Troops are delighted to have teamed up with NFL for the FIRST time to provide free tickets to 500 members of the armed forces. The NFL will return to Wembley Stadium as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Chicago Bears in the Pepsi Max International Series on Sunday 23rd October.
Both teams have graced the Wembley turf before but the game holds special significance for the Chicago Bears as it marks the 25th anniversary of the first official NFL game in the UK in which they beat the Dallas Cowboys.
Tickets For Troops was set up in 2009 to provide members of the Armed Forces with free tickets for major sporting events, theatre performances, music concerts and cultural attractions.
Since launching, the charity has been donated over 260,000 tickets and over 100,000 troops have registered on the website www.ticketsfortroops.org.uk.
Tickets For Troops Chairman, Lord Marland said: "Tickets For Troops has benefited from a great wave of generosity from our ticket donors who have wanted to demonstrate their support and show their appreciation for the dedication and commitment of the marvellous men and women of our Armed Forces."
Alistair Kirkwood, Managing Director of NFL UK, said: "We are very pleased to be able to support such a worthy cause. We are expecting a great game and an amazing event surrounding it and we are very excited to have members of our armed forces there to enjoy it with us."
Tickets For Troops has been supported by a wide range of organisations and has been able to offer free tickets to a huge number of high profile events; recently these have included tickets for the Jackson Forever Tribute Concert, Lee Evans Roadrunner Tour and Great Britain Davis Cup matches. Last week the charity joined forces with Frank Warren to put on a transatlantic boxing showdown between US and UK Forces at the Royal Albert Hall.
Troops are encouraged to go online and register at www.ticketsfortroops.org.uk to take advantage of the fantastic tickets available for our Armed Forces.
