TICKETS For Troops has today teamed up with The Brit Insurance
Oval to offer servicemen and women 160 tickets to see the NatWest
One Day International cricket match between England and Pakistan
next Friday 17th September.
The match will be the third in the five match series between the
sides which starts tomorrow.Tickets For Troops Chairman, Lord
Marland said: "Tickets For Troops are extremely grateful to The
Brit Insurance Oval for this tremendously generous act. It is a
huge boost in morale for troops to receive this sort of support
from organizations across the board".
Tickets For Troops has teamed up with a wide range of
organisations and has been able to offer free tickets to a huge
number of high profile events, including top Premier League
Football matches, horse-racing, the friendly football match between
England and Hungary, as well as the British Grand Prix at
Silverstone.
The charity was set up last year to provide members of the Armed
Forces with free tickets for major sporting events including
football, horse racing, rugby, darts and cricket matches as well as
theatre performances, music concerts and cultural attractions.
Since launching it has provided over 200,000 tickets and almost
60,000 troops have registered on the website -

The initiative has attracted maximum support from a host of
Patrons, including ex England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio,
Alan Shearer OBE, Gary Lineker OBE, James Blunt and Samantha
Cameron, the wife of PM David Cameron.
Patron Andrew Flintoff MBE said: "I know exactly what the troops
are going through from my recent experiences of travelling to
Afghanistan to meet them.
"I was extremely moved by the whole experience and met some
incredible people while I was out there. The Tickets for Troops
scheme will hopefully help them and make them realise how grateful
we are for their efforts."
