Singing soldier on a mission to Preston North End
X Factor star Jonjo Kerr is backing npower's Tickets for Troops month, which sees 950 members of the Armed Forces receive FREE tickets to npower Football League matches during November.
Football-mad infantryman Jonjo, 28, of Chorley, Lancs, took a tour of the club's Deepdale Stadium and met manager Phil Brown.
Jonjo said: "Tickets for Troops is a fantastic cause. Most of the lads in the Armed Forces love sport - especially football. Tickets for Troops gives lads a break.
"The X Factor was brilliant for me. It was great while it lasted. Now, I'm really looking forward to seeing again the lads in 7 Platoon, Corunna Company. I've always known I was a soldier. Anything I got out of X Factor was a bonus. I'm still the same person I was before X Factor and that will never change.
"I'd love to mix the Army with singing if possible. It would be great to entertain the troops."
Preston North End manager Phil Brown is also backing npower Tickets for Troops month.
He added: "npower Tickets for Troops month is a small way of showing those who put their lives on the line for us that we do care.
"The Armed Forces keep our country safe and allow us to go about our jobs and lives as we wish. I really do appreciate the role they play.
"I really hope people will choose to come along to Preston."
Throughout November npower Tickets for Troops offers 950 tickets to 19 matches at 13 clubs located near military installations.
The 13 clubs involved are: Aldershot Town, Oldham Athletic, Oxford United, Preston North End, Wycombe Wanderers, Yeovil Town, Colchester United, Hereford United, Swindon Town, Leeds United, Cardiff City, Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth.
The Football League - and all of its member clubs - regularly donate tickets to Tickets for Troops.
